Twenty-two years on, her condition continued to deteriorate. She suffered migraines, vomiting and loss of vision on a monthly basis. The ailment had no cure, so she constantly took migraine tablets to keep herself going. Each time she suffered a migraine, her body would sweat and suddenly go cold. To prevent the worst from happening, she would go straight to bed in a dark room. Several times however, the aches had started while she was driving; forcing her to pull over by the roadside to vomit, while wondering how she would make it home.
One morning in January 2008, she passed out on the wheel while driving her company car to work. All she could recall was that she had experienced light headaches on and off for days, before ending up in the ambulance, heading to the local accident and emergency unit that day. She was admitted in the hospital for eleven days, while the doctors carried out numerous tests on her, including a lumbar puncture to test her for meningitis. No other illness could be detected other than migraine. Elaine's critical state prompted her parent’s trip to Ireland from Scotland to look after her and her daughter. She started receiving injections to help reduce the pain and help her get some sleep during the migraine episodes. Then her doctor suggested something unusual. “In the past I had tried physiotherapy, massage, deep heat, diet and other therapies, but none of these could stop the migraines”, she said. “The older I got, the more severe and more regular they became. In 2009, the doctor on one visit to my home, suggested I should try a course of HRT(Hormone Replacement Therapy) to see if that would help the continued cycle of migraines. HRT? I'm 37 years of age, no way! I knew these migraines had to end; I knew that I needed healing”, she recalled.
In search of that healing, she came across Pastor Chris on TV, and started listening to the messages. “I was getting stronger in my spirit; I was fellowshipping daily with the Holy Spirit and His Word came alive in me. He was revealing every phase of the restoration process in advance.”
