YOU AND THE WORD
MEDITATE ON THE WORD OF GOD-PART 2

You have to meditate on the Word until it becomes your most predominant thought i.e. it fills your mind in such a way that it becomes what you think about every time.

Psalm 19:14 says “Let the word of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight oh Lord”

Meditation helps you to fortify yourself with the Word against the evil day so that you will know how to respond when the devil tries to strike against you. When you know the Word of God through meditation, it will be difficult for you to be deceived or for the devil to sell his lies to you. It will cause the words of your mouth to be right always i.e. your words will become aligned with the provisions of the gospel.

THE MATERIAL FOR MEDITATION

Your prevailing thoughts will always determine your choice of words. This means, health or sickness in life begins from the thoughts that fill your mind, that is, from your way of thinking. This is why you must make the Word of God the only material for meditation because it fills your mind with the right thoughts. Remember that the Bible says “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).

Stop meditating on your past mistakes or on how you suffered when you were sick, instead think on the Word of God and the ability of your heavenly father; just like David in the Bible who said I will meditate on all your work and talk of your deeds” (Psalm 77:12).

If you must ponder on anything, let it be on the Word and God’s greatness. It is only the Word of God that has the power to change the circumstances of your life and health, so meditate on it when you are alone. Psalm 1:2 says “Your delight should be in the law of the Lord and in His law; you should meditate day and night”. Let it renew your mind and give you a new way of thinking (Romans 12:2). “Let the word convert your soul” (Psalm 19:7)

The book of Psalm says “as you meditate on the Word of God, you become like a tree planted by the riverside and your leaves do not wither” (Psalm 1:1-3). Whatever you do prospers because God’s Word in you doesn’t recognize failure; it doesn’t have the ability to fail.

For your meditation to be effective, it has to be consistent. Joshua 1:8 says “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”.

Constant meditation yields great dividends. As you meditate, you will receive revelation knowledge of how to make your way prosperous and have good success and of course staying healthy. Meditating on the Word makes you recognize who you are in Christ and what you have in him. It helps you locate yourself in Christ. Meditation is what brings out of your mouth, the Word of God that you have stored in your heart; it unlocks the power of God’s Word in your life and causes it to yield results.

Do ensure you cultivate the discipline of regular meditation in the word of God today.

God bless you
