YOUR PERSONAL CHRISTIAN DEVELOPMENT
ATTENDING CHURCH SERVICES REGULARLY

“Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do……” (Hebrew 10:25 TLB).

Something you must be sure to do is not to be absent from church services. The importance of going to church cannot be overemphasized. The Bible says concerning Jesus that “……. He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day. And stood up to read” (Luke 4:16). In other words, Jesus had a culture of going to “church”. It was part of His personal discipline and devotion; if the master took it as an important activity; you should do so as well.

If you don’t go to church, you will not grow the way you ought to. Going to church regularly will help you stay in health. Going to church is one of those things you must do to exercise yourself spiritually: it is more than just a weekly routine. Don’t copy the wrong attitude of those who do not go to church. You should also inculcate the habit of going to the House of God on time i.e. to be punctual. It is not good for you to go to church or other important meetings at your own leisure.

We read in John 20:24 “But Thomas, one of the twelve called didymus, was not with them when Jesus came”. This scripture is very touching because it actually describes why many Christians miss what God has in store for them as a result of them not being at the right place at the right time.

When you go to church, you receive a blessing. “….For there the Lord commanded the blessing even life forevermore” (Psalm 133:3). The blessing is not something physical. You don’t see it with your eyes, but its there. Right there in the church service, you receive from God’s awesome presence. You receive the blessing that only comes from God. Jesus never disappoints! Every service is an appointment wit the Holy Spirit. You must realize that you can actually receive something specific from God at every church meeting, something that will lift you up to the next level in your life.

You must make a personal commitment that you will always be in church on days of worship. Don’t skip church services or go only when it is convenient for you. If you can be disciplined enough to go to work everyday of the week, and not only when it is convenient for you, then you can be disciplined enough to be at church services, and on time as well.

You need to remain in an arena of faith, where you can learn how to keep your healing and remain healthy.

Our Christ Embassy Churches afford you such an atmosphere. You can visit our website www.christembassy.org for more information about our churches and their addresses.
