YOUR FIGHT OF FAITH

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH (A)

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1Timothy 6:12

In fighting the good fight of faith, you must note that we are not fighting with the devil because the devil; has already been defeated. Yes, the devil has already been defeated. Jesus Christ defeated the devil more than 2000 years ago. The Bible does not say we should fight with the devil. We do not have any business fighting with the devil. Rather, the Bible says we should fight. What kind of fight? It is the fight of faith. The bible says fight the good fight of faith. Why is it a good fight? It is a good fight because from the beginning, you have been declared the winner. That is why it is a good fight. It is not a bad fight. We are not fighting the devil because the devil has already been defeated. As children of God what we do is to fight the good fight of faith. Hallelujah!

Why is it a fight of faith? Because, there are certain circumstances, situations, symptoms you may see in your body that is contrary to the Word of God that you have received.

How do you fight the good fight of faith? The devil is not a physical being, you are not fighting him physically, and you prevail against him with the Word. The Word of God is the weapon you use to fight.

“For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword”
(Hebrews 4:12).

“Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:11-12)

 
You put on the whole armor of God so you can stand against the tricks of the devil, against the strategies of the devil, against the lies he throws at you. This is so that you might be able to withstand in the evil day. When is the evil day? The evil day is the day the devil comes against you. That day, you must fight the good fight of faith. 

The devil comes against you with lying vanities. The symptoms you feel in your body is  a lying vanity, the pain is a lying vanity, the tumor is a lying vanity, the growth is a lying vanity, the swelling is a lying vanity, the high blood pressure is a lying vanity.  You must keep standing on the word.

“Stand therefore, having your loins girth about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness”.  Ephesians 6:14

What is truth? The Word of God is truth; the Word of God is reality. Have the Word of God in your spirit and put on the breastplate of righteousness.

Some thoughts might come to you e.g. “Look at you, how will you keep your healing when you got angry with so and so yesterday. The Bible says “You are righteous; you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You need to know that you received the free gift of righteousness when you gave your life to Christ. Rom5:17. Having the breastplate of righteousness on protects you from all the lies and attacks of the devil.

“Above all taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.”  Ephesians 6:16-17.
                                      
It says above all i.e. above all other weapons that you have on. When it says “above all”, it means it is more important than every other thing.  Faith shields you from the devil’s counter attack. The word of God in your mouth is a weapon. It is the sword of your Spirit. The word will always prevail.
