YOUR GOD GIVEN AUTHORITY
THE AUTHORITHY OF THE BELIEVER-PART A
Do you know that you as a child of God, you have authority over the devil. God has given us authority.  We don’t need to be subject to the devil. Sickness does not come from God; pain does not come from God. In fact, anything that does not make you happy, that makes you sad, is not from God why? Because the bible says that, God is the giver of good and perfect gift James so anything that is contrary to the provisions of God for you in the gospel is not from God.  Divine health is what God has provided for you.  Sickness and pain are not from God.  We have authority over the devil. Luke 10:19, “Behold I give unto you power to tread upon serpent and scorpion and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  When it says power there, it means I give unto you authority to tread upon serpent and scorpion and over all the ability of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

What is authority?  Authority is delegated power.  God has delegated power to you to act here on earth, to act on His behalf here on earth.  Hallelujah.  Let us look at an example of how authority is exercised. The police man who controls traffic, when he tells the car to stop, the car has to stop, He doesn’t have to jump of push or do anything to make the car to stop. Why? Because the policeman is backed by federal might.  He has the authority of the Government to stop the car. That vehicle, whether it is a car, a truck or a trailer has to stop because the policeman has authority.  The truck driver, the trailer driver has power because he has the power to crush the policeman but the police man has federal might and federal authority. The truck driver has to obey him whether he likes it or not. He (the truck or trailer driver) may not like the policeman, he may even be angry and feel like pummeling him, but whatever it is, he has to listen to him. He has to obey him because the police man is backed by federal might.

In the same vein you have authority over the devil. You are like that police man, you have federal might. Rebuke the devil and command him to desist from his activities. He has to stop. Why? Because, authority has been given to you by Jesus Christ.  In Matthew 28:18’ Jesus Christ said “All power is given unto me in heaven and on earth.” Jesus Christ has delegated the ability to use, and exercise this power to you.  So, what do you do? You reign over sickness. You trample over devils with this power which He has delegated to you.

Do you know who you are? Let’s look at who we are in Christ Jesus. The bible says that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all principality and powers and dominion that every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come and has put all things under his (Christ’s) feet and gave him to be the head over all things to the church which is the fullness of him that filleth all in all. Ephesians 1:20-23.
