     South Africa has a well-developed communications infrastructure,   with extensive landline      phone networks and three mobile phone   service providers with far-reaching coverage. The      leading network   technology is 3G, It is fully digital, allowing for caller line   identification,      electronic call answering and per second billing. This   technology is also used to provide fast      Internet connectivity by   some Internet Service Providers. This facility is available in most      hotels and lodges.

     Furthermore, Internet cafés abound in several parts of the city.   You may rent mobile      phones (cell phones) from the airport upon   your arrival or you may come along with your      mobile phone and   buy a sim card. The public telephones are either coin- or      card- operated.

     Phone and sim cards can be purchased at certain stores, post   offices and at the airport.      The sim cards are as cheap as R2 and   airtime vouchers are obtainable at the following      rates for the   different networks:
     MTN (R15-R60), Vodacom (R29- R250) and Cell C (R5-R50)
