55-years-old Epiphania suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for over 20 years. Her joints, especially her ankle joints would always swell thereby making it difficult for her to walk and put on shoes. She could not do household tasks because her finger joints were equally affected.
Epiphania depended on medication for relief from the excruciating pain. The doctor said that with rheumatoid arthritis, nothing could be done to heal her; she would spend the rest of her life on a wheel chair.
